Bevy Bot - Update

Well, there aren't any new pics. I have had to revamp the entire cooling box and now have a professional looking cooler, but it's still not working correctly. I'll try to put up some pics later, maybe on the next update. I've been having a heck of a time with getting materials and parts, which is just as well since I've been having more bad days than good lately.

Anyway, it seems that I have been working with a lot of bad information, confused information, and just crap spewed from people who really don't know what they are talking about. So how far have I gotten since my last post? I think that I'm doing pretty good. I finally got some peltier units that were designed for recreational coolers. They won't work for what I want, as I received them though. The heat sinks are too small (and they are huge compared to what I was using). I did get one of them into a cooler and have started testing, with some promising results. Results that prove that most of the information I'm finding online is bunk (and that's from the people who "know". Damn wikipidia). So far I have it running from a 3.5 amp solar panel and does pretty good. At 1 amp the cold plate can get down to about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. At 3.5 amps it can get down to 40. The hot side gets pretty warm and as a "heater" I have been able to raise the room temperature 3-4 degrees. I was using fans to try to move the air around, but the only one that seemed to help is the one on the hot side.

I would love to go into peltier cooling and the problems, but that would take a thesis and a lot of time to write. Besides, I don't feel like dealing with the "people who know". So I'll just try to keep you better updated as to my progress.
